Bit Quill was started in 2017 by five developers with experience in data and cloud; in their first year they secured customers that continue to work with Bit Quill today. Fast forward to now and we are now a growing team with a set of partners that range from established multi-nationals to unicorns. One of the most important lessons we’ve learned over the years is to listen to our customers and to our team. We’re continually learning how to do this better and always looking for people who want to be part of this journey with us.
Committed to Culture
Culture plays a significant and meaningful part of our everyday life; we believe in making space for social events, for giving back to the community, for self-education, and for sharing knowledge. These are tenets that are built into how we measure our success in the roles that we take on, and in how we perform as a company.
Technically Focused
As a group, we’re pretty passionate about technology and computing. We love learning new languages and frameworks and by working here we get the opportunity to challenge ourselves to keep expanding our skillsets. At Bit Quill, being agile is a frame of mind, not just an approach to software development.
We believe there is value in accountability
Webster’s dictionary defines accountability as “an obligation or willingness to accept responsibility, or to account for one’s actions”. In our view, accountability is not about assigning blame - it is about ensuring that those in positions of responsibility engage in crafting solutions and driving positive outcomes. It is our intention to ensure our accountability, both for our commitments to our customers and to the commitment we make to ourselves to stay true to our core values of Teamwork, Relationships, Excellence and Ethics.

These values didn’t come from a Top Ten List, or from the last big article to circulate on LinkedIn. The employees at Bit Quill decided for themselves that these were the values they wanted to come to work for.
Teamwork
We know that great teamwork is a driver of great product. Bit Quill is one large team, composed of many smaller ones, which are each interlaced with our customer’s teams. For us, teamwork means remaining helpful, communicative to others, and inclusive. Each of our successes is the result of our team.
Excellence
Product. Technical skill. Implementation. Delivery. Communication. Process. We work hard to develop excellence across the board, whether in development of software, in the technical aspects of actual coding, in communication with our customers and other team members, or in fostering growth in those who work at Bit Quill. We believe listening and iteration provide our best path forward in the pursuit of excellence.
Relationships
Relationships are at the heart of everything we do. Developing and maintaining trusting, long-term relationships helps us work more efficiently, makes working with us a better experience for our partners, and paves the way for future business. We treat each other with respect and provide support when it is needed.
Ethics
Trustworthy, fair, responsible, honest, respectful; we aim to uphold these principles in everything we do and they underpin all our other core values. We believe we - and all other stakeholders - should feel good about the decisions we make and the actions we take. We hope that at the end of the day, we can honestly say that we did the best we could. If we didn’t, it will be our goal for tomorrow.
