You Can Now Stream 'The Killers' New Album 'Battle Born' for Free on iTunes

As pointed out to me on Twitter, you can now stream the The Killers' new album Battle Born in its entirety for free on iTunes. The album is set to release on September 18th, so this ought to hold you over until then.

The idea of artists allowing for the free streaming of entire albums prior to their release is rather interesting in general, though. On the one hand, giving anything away for free is not at all like the music industry. On the other hand, new albums always get leaked about a week or so in advance anyway, so if people are going to listen to it early, I suppose record labels figure that it's better if it happens in iTunes. On a third hand, I get really excited for the official release day, buy the album as soon as I can, and listen to it intently for weeks on end. This whole "early streaming" ordeal kind of ruins that experience. Just something to think about, I suppose.
