The Digest for July 2-6
/The Digest is a weekly recap and guide to the internet, helping you keep tabs on everything geeky in the past week's worth of internet. This week wasn't such a big one news-wise, but there are some great Gems in the Rough this time around.
The Watch
Happenings this past week.
- Belkin released the Wemo
And man, does it look cool. - Apple added Notes and Reminders to the iCloud Beta
- Checkmark was released
And Shawn Blanc did an excellent job reviewing it, as usual. Not sure it can replace Due for me, though, even though it lacks location based reminders.
On The Horizon
What to expect next week.
Friday
- Lemony Snicket is releasing something
It is, fittingly, going to be Friday the 13th. Not sure what is being released, although it does, of course, seem to have to do with The Series of Unfortunate Events. There's not much info on this released as of yet other than the Facebook page, and the tagline "Books will fall".
Gems in the Rough
The best links, sites, videos, and things you should see from this past week.
- How to "retinaify" your website
A great guide. - A look at iOS and OS X icons
Super interesting. A great read for the weekend. - Some Retina MacBook Pro ready wallpapers
- Outtakes from The Beatles's "Abbey Road" cover photo shoot
Very cool to see.
