Lucas' Latest Show: 'Star Wars Detours'
/
With the next season of the actually-pretty-decent Clone Wars around the corner, Lucas (and his posse) have done something rather surprising — they've launched an entirely new show called Star Wars Detours. It claims to be "an animated comedy that explores what daily life is like in a galaxy far, far away", but while we've probably all wondered what everyday life truly is like for a Jedi, that's not what this show actually gives us. Instead it seems to be a Disney Channel-like cheesy comedy that (ab)uses the classic Star Wars characters. Here one of the trailers for the new show:
One or two funny lines in there? Sure. But it's a pretty clear abomination to the true Star Wars franchise. And yet, if you take a look, the video has more "likes" than "dislikes". Which very clearly poses the following question: What do you think? Is this a legitimate attempt at expanding the Star Wars universe? Or are you hoping that this is somehow just some sort of sick joke?
