Introducing the HP iMac
/
This? Now this is just ridiculous.
It would seem as if HP today announced a new computer called the Spectre One. And it looks exactly like Apple's iMac line. It would seem as if HP was slowly taking steps towards ripping Apple off entirely, and now they've final done it. There is much to say here, but let's start with the basics.
For one, have they learned nothing from what happened with Apple and Samsung?
Now, will people actually mistake this for an iMac? Most probably not — I doubt even the build quality is as good — but that's irrelevant. Everything down to the keyboard and trackpad is just a blatant ripoff.
Finally, I'd just like to point out that companies other than Apple can make good-looking hardware that doesn't have to be a rip-off of Apple's designs. It is possible. There are plenty of beautiful things in this world that are not made by Apple. Indeed, a non-Apple aesthetic might be refreshingly welcome by consumers. But that would require other companies like Samsung and HP to actually try on their own.
So, there's the rant of the day for you.
