Fieldrunners 2 — $2.99

It must have been well over a year ago when Fieldrunners first came out. It was without a doubt the best, most fun, tower defense-style game on the App Store (in the App Store?). Since then, anybody who bought it has played through it and have thus been waiting for the next great tower defense game to come along.

Well, it's here. And it's Fieldrunners again. This time, it's Fieldrunners 2, an entirely new game in much the same way that each, say, Call of Duty is an entirely new game. New look, new elements to game play, better graphics. But it's still the same awesome game we all knew and loved.

And indeed, Fieldrunners 2 is a great game. There is a ton of detail, like the waterfalls in the background of certain fields actually flowing. The game has gotten far more sophisticated too, with all different types of levels, fields, worlds, and special items. It's kind of like the original Fieldrunners on steroids. It's very finished, and there's tons to explore and do. No question version 2 will take longer to complete than the original. The only thing I would want more is and iPad version. But alas, it's iPhone only (at least for now). Not a deal-breaker though, and at $2.99 it's worth picking up.
