iA Writer 1.7 for iPad

iA Writer 1.7 for iOS is now available for download.

The latest update is a rather large one, especially considering that iA Writer is famously minimal when it comes to features. New updates include:

  • Formatted Preview (tap the Export icon)
  • New export options (HTML, formatted text, etc.)
  • Dropbox improvements and fixes
  • Spell checker now accessible with VoiceOver
  • Ready for iOS 6 and iPhone 5
  • Performance improvements

There are also some changes to iCloud implementation that, in a nutshell, just ask you to choose if you would like to use it exclusively upon launching the app. Whatever you decide, you can always change it later in the settings (to, say, incorporate the Dropbox support into your workflow as well).

The developers promise the OS X 1.7 update is coming shortly.

It's a nice update, but I still use Byword as my text editor of choice.
