Felix Baumgartner’s Skydive Explained

Earlier today, a man by the name of Felix Baumgartner quite literally jumped to earth from outer space, beating the previous record for the longest free fall ever, inspiring the world, and pushing the limits of what science can do. Close to 10 million people watched live on YouTube (I was one of them, despite my feed freezing up every few seconds).
